Why you'd want to live in Hampstead
Hampstead is a community shaped by a road, the Baltimore-Hanover Pike. The original settlement of “Spring Garden” was a wagon stop. The Pike became our Main Street and the settlement eventually grew into the Town of Hampstead. Unfortunately, the narrow, two-lane road became increasingly more congested over the years until 2009 when the Hampstead Bypass was built. With heavy traffic moving around the town rather than through it, our future has never looked brighter. In Hampstead, we have great schools, caring churches and wonderful civic organizations. Residents enjoy a wide range of recreational opportunities including our well-maintained local parks. via hampsteadmd.gov
